The Chairman of Joint Campus Committee, (JCC) of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Akwa Ibom State, Comrade Akwaowo Clifford Ukpong has commended the cooperation of Akwa Ibom state students toward their tremendous support and esteem present at the successful conclusion of Student Mentorship Summit held in Uyo.


JCC is the highest students co-ordinating body in the state which over sees and co-ordinate the activities of the students union activities in various campuses in the state.
Comrade Ukpong who spoke with sosoconnect.com, shortly after the event, noted that the first ever Student Summit with the theme, “Making The Certificate Practical”, was one of its kind and prayed God give him the grace to organize it in subsequent years.
“I want to use this opportunity to thank all Akwa Ibom State Students who came out en masse to tap from  the wealth of our keynote speakers, mentors, and to share our own experiences in life because it will go a long way in widening our knowledge positively”
He also noted that, that the theme of the summit was very timely taking cognizance the present economy the state and Nigeria is facing at the moment.
The chairman of JCC also stressed that his main aim and objective in hosting the summit was to inspire and sustain the leadership and self development potential of students in the state and the country at large.
“It shall also serve as a veritable multi-sectoral forum for brainstorming/cross-fertilization of ideas among students and remind stakeholders of their responsibilities towards achieving balance in our national leadership structure”.
On what the body has done so far, he disclosed that JCC has been able to protect, intervene, and help in projecting legitimate individual and collective interest(s) of students in various campuses.
He expressed his sincere gratitude to the Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Barr) Onofiok Luke; the member representing Esit Eket/Ibeno in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Usoro Akpanusoh; The Grand Patron of Akwa Ibom State Students, Mr Ubong King; National Association of Nigerian Students and National Association of Akwa Ibom State Students among several other dignitaries that graced the event.
